Letter from the Manager
Firstly, I would like to thank you for taking an interest in Seaside Montessori by visiting our website. The opening of Seaside Montessori is the recognition of a lifelong dream of mine and to be able to do this in my hometown of Hull, MA is an added reward.
With our first decade in business completed, I am filled with gratitude for all the wonderful families that have chosen Seaside to be a part of their lives. The collection of families within the Seaside community are so supportive adding to our success. The awareness of and attraction to the Montessori approach to education continues to grow within our town and I am so pleased at how recognizable our little program has become in the surrounding communities.
When I was first introduced to the Montessori philosophy, I found the manner of approach taken in educating the children just made sense to me. I pursued an International Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy for Early Childhood Education through the Montessori Centre International, London, England. During this time, I was also fortunate to work for a fantastic Montessori school in Millis, MA, Woodside Montessori Academy. There I gained great experience and was coached and mentored by experienced, creative, and intelligent colleagues and mentors.
The opportunity to purchase the former Nanatasket Preschool site allowed for the realization of my dream to run my own Montessori early childhood education program. So, I handed in my notice at BBH Dublin, hopped on a plane back home, and started working full steam ahead! During the first half of 2011 a lot of work went into updating the classroom space. During the following few years, we incrementally improved our outdoor space. We added gardens, an appealing sandbox play area, a climbing dome, and fruit trees! More recently we replaced the aged chain link fence with a more weather resistant vinyl fence and added a patio with a gazebo to add an outdoor project space. And the children helped create our construction zone with digger and trucks and our log building area with various blocks and logs to build with. In the summer of 2024 new windows are going in and our back deck and floors are getting a makeover as well! With so much effort and love being poured into our little program the results are so welcoming as you enter for a visit.
